Misunderstood Myths about Weight Loss
By Mark Machaalani | Published  03/29/2006

Many people assume that they are thinking logically when it comes to losing weight, but in fact they are not. Generally people think the less food they consume, the less weight they will store - sounds logical right? Wrong!

Your body is smarter then that. If you eat less food (food = energy), as in 2 meals a day, then your body begins to think that it may run out of energy because you are not constantly giving it any.

Hence, it begins to store extra weight or fat in order to use for energy "incase" it runs out of energy. This is done by your metabolism slowing down and burning energy slower.

So the truth is actually simple. You must eat 5 (small / medium) meals a day split apart by 2 hours. This way your metabolism starts running faster, resulting in energy being burnt quicker!

However keep in mind that you must eat healthy foods with lots of protein and vegies and that your intake of calories is less then what you burn

NOTE: To lose one U.S. pound (.454 kg), you must burn 3,500 more calories than you take in as food.

Start burning those calories :)
